CheckPoint HR breathes life into Kyowa’s HR system

Kyowa Hakko is the second largest life sciences company in Japan with 6,000 employees globally. CheckPoint HR represents the 80 employees in its US headquarters in Princeton, NJ.

The Challenge

Kyowa’s previous payroll provider was a large organization that offered a solution with limited customer service levels and was not adequate for its growing needs. Kyowa preferred a solution that provided a robust and scalable technology platform in order to streamline all HR-business critical applications, including payroll and benefits administration. Kyowa also favored a system that offered employee self-service and various online training programs.

The Choice

Kyowa selected the CheckPoint Plus service offering that provides a full suite of applications for payroll, human resources, employee benefits, employee assistance programs, training and recruiting tools.

The Solution

Kyowa employees now have 24/7 access to all pertinent employee payroll & benefits information. On the HRMS system, employees can now view their benefits options, payroll history, W-4, and W-2. The Open Enrollment option saves the HR department time as employee elections are automatically updated in the system, removing any need for HR to re-input information. Additionally, Kyowa’s employee-sensitive payroll history is never purged but
remains easily accessible.

The Results

Beyond the pure integration of payroll and HR functions, CheckPoint HR provided Kyowa the added value of online learning and self-service capabilities. Kyowa was able to create a robust Company Intranet on the CheckPoint HR portal that features enewsletters, company policies, an employee handbook and company wide forms.
