Auto Action Selects CheckPoint HR Benefits Group to Fuel HR and Benefits Processes

Based in Union, NJ, Auto Action Group has been a leader in the sale and installation of aftermarket and OEM products in the tri-state area since 1978. The company's products are designed exclusively for new car dealers to maximize their profit per vehicle.

The Challenge

In 2003, Auto Action was faced with rising health care costs and sought a way to offset these expenditures, while also improving their payroll processes. In an attempt to automate their HR and benefits processes, Auto Action searched for a solution that could cover the full gamut - from benefits broker services to payroll/HRMS and 401k plans. A centralized platform to simplify these processes would allow the company to focus on other key areas, such as sales and business development. 


The Choice

Auto Action selected CheckPoint HR and CheckPoint HR Benefits Group in an effort to embrace a total solution to meet employee self-service, and core health care needs and manage costs. In addition, the company's former healthcare provider would not offer a renewal under a large market group. By identifying and targeting customer's needs, CheckPoint HR Benefits Group was able to perform a qualitative and quantitative analysis around Auto Action's situation and target employee benefit needs and budgetary requirements. To meet these needs, Auto Action selected two plans - a POSc as well as a HMOc - for its employees.

The Solution

At Auto Action, the company has deployed CheckPoint HR for all of its benefits administration needs – including medical, dental, disability, etc. In addition, Auto Action utilizes CheckPoint HR’s HRMS platform for payroll processing and reporting capabilities.

Not only are we able to handle payroll and benefits administration, but we can manage everything under one umbrella - from performance reviews to employee time-off to 401k programs." 

The Results

With the selection of CheckPoint HR Benefits Group, Auto Action has acknowledged significant cost savings. In June 2009, Auto Action recognized a 2% savings on one of its medical insurance plans, and a 14% savings on the other. In addition, the company has improved organizational efficiency by saving time and money in other areas.

"In a market where you would expect to find an increase in medical insurance costs, we were actually able to save money with CheckPoint HR," added Mr. Cohen.
